According to the Overton Park Forever blog, the City of Memphis Engineering Division is planning to build a giant storm water detention basin in the Greensward. This is the grassy area between the Memphis College of Art and Rainbow Lake. The Greensward has been a park of and much used part of Overton Park since 1901. The Vollintine-Evergreen Community Association will host a public forum at their headquarters, 1680 Jackson Avenue, Wednesday March 11th at 6:30. Representatives of the City of Memphis will be on hand to answer questions.
