A Legal Defense Fund has been set up at all branches of Independent Bank to help defray the legal costs for the St. Luke's/Union Ave Methodist Church (CVS - Methodist Church) lawsuit in Chancery Court to prevent the sale of the property to CVS. The account was set up by Memphis Heritage and will be used only for any expenses generated from the suit. The name on the account is UMAC Legal Fund (account #3011003) It was set up at the I Bank branch on Union Ave., but you can make donations at any Branch. Please donate if you believe in this fight to save a Midtown Landmark in order that another "House of Worship" can possibly purchase it and keep it as vital part of our community. If it's 5 or 10 dollars, no amount is too small - a thousand would be nice - but every little bit helps.
